Hello All!
I'm writing in the place of the Imari Hostel's gracious host and
hostess today! Hopefully this will be their first official English
post! First let me introduce the topic of today's post - a 32
year reunion! Between whom, you ask? It's between my mother and
the hostess!
My mother and the lady here at Imari Hostel have been
friends since their high school years, and, like many of us do,
went their separate years after graduation. Work and family
took up the time of these two women, and for many a year,
they were unable to meet. One day, a couple years ago, my mother
received an e-mail advertising a paticularly highly regarded
Imari Hostel located in scenic Hua Lian. And much to our
surprise, the owner of this Hostel was none other than
my mother's childhood friend! Unfortunately, it would be a
couple of more years before a trip was finally planned to Hua
Lian. Fortunately, this particular Summer saw that particular
trip to Hua Lian for my mother and I. This was the perfect
plan for us. For me, since I had never been to Hua Lian, and
for my mother, who hadn't seen Mrs. Maeda since way back when.
And since we would definitely need a stay while exploring Hua
Lian, where else better to stay than at Mrs Maeda's Imari Hostel?
Well, I could have a lot more to say, But I don't know exactly
how many people would want to read my continuous drabbelings
in English. So I'll stop here.
Here's to renewed friendships and happy reunions!
(Mom and Mrs. Imari)
p.s. Mrs. Imari has asked me to ask readers of this post to reply
in either Chinese or Japanese, as her English is not quite yet up
to par. Have a nice day!!
